Charging extra for dogs is so lame!

In fact, we love dogs so much that you pay $10 more if you DON’T bring a dog. Seriously.

Customized services to accommodate your dog(s) temperament

It is a privilege to share our days with your dog(s). Upon making a reservation you will be emailed a ‘Dog Pawfile Form’ where you can inform us about your dogs’ temperament and any concerns that you may have relating to interaction with our staff, other dogs, and other guests. Before you arrive we will review this form in great de’tail’ and contact you if we have any concerns. Further, upon arrival, our trained staff will greet you to make sure that everyone is comfortable in their new surroundings.

Dogs in the Inn

We welcome dogs of all sizes and breeds. As a general rule, dogs must be friendly towards people and other dogs. When with their humans, all dogs are permitted in the private guest rooms, breakfast rooms, and common areas. Please note that dogs are not permitted to be left alone in Diggins Park, guest rooms, or cottages. Instead, we offer Mario’s Bunkhouse where we provide pawsonal attention to every dog in our care. All included in your nightly rate!

There are custom-built dog beds in each room so your dog can sleep in comfurt.

Mario's Bunkhouse
Our On-Site Dog Facility

Planning to shop, ski, or adventure without your tail wagger? Wanting a romantic dinner sans fido? Instead of leaving your dog alone in your guest room where we cannot provide the attention they deserve, we provide Mario's Bunkhouse - our on-site doggie facility. Named for our beloved co-founder Mario D. Dogg.

Mario’s is available 24/7 exclusively as a courtesy for overnight guests to explore Vermont and leave their dogs in our care. Throughout the day we are happy to love, walk, and play with your dog(s). (It is our favorite part of the day!) During the evening, we check on all doggies but do not take them out. All of this is included in the nightly rate!

In the Bunkhouse each family has a large PRIVATE indoor and climate controlled space that is large enough to comfortably accommodate three large dogs. Mario’s also has a self serve cleaning station (ideal for dirt divin’ goldens, lol) where you can primp up your bestie before a night on the town.

The Paw House Breakfast Experience

For many guests, our breakfast is among the highlights of a Vermont visit. Each morning we serve a home-cooked country breakfast to order, prepared with fresh Vermont products and lots of love. With advance notice, we can accommodate dietary restrictions such as gluten free and vegan.

While the food is excellent, the magic of our inn is on full display each morning in our dining rooms and porch where guests share their ‘tails’ with each other over hot coffee, fresh baked muffins, omelets, and woofles to order. Check out Tails of Adventure for more great stories from our guests.

Diggins Dog Park

Named after our goofball Diggins, our off-leash park has the dimensions of half a football field and is completely fenced-in. Available exclusively to Paw House guests, Diggins’ Park is home to dog-centric activities such as picnicking, dog agility, playtime, and general romping. The Park is easily accessed from the inn and Mario’s Bunkhouse. Guests are welcome to utilize the Park any time day or night.

E-menities

Rest assured that our wifi is so fast that it will out-stream most pugs and perhaps a few whippets too. Our smart TVs are all Roku and we also provide many cable channels for your downtime enjoyment.

For your pawsonal comfurt, all accommodations are equipped with individual thermostats for heating and cooling.

Guest Kitchenette

Prepping food for you and your dogs is easy regardless of room choice. A fully equipped kitchenette with a fridge, freezer, microwave, coffee pot, kettle, drinkware, plates, and utensils is provided for storing and preparing meals for yourself and your doggies. Both cottages have private kitchens and grills and with everything needed to prepare and serve a full dinner.

Vet Services

One service we hope that you never need is a vet. But if you do, we are so fortunate to have a highly trained, exceedingly loving vet tech on our staff (link to Meet Our Pack) and also access to Rutland Veterinary Clinic and Surgical Center only twenty minutes from the inn.
